Maidstone have signed midfielder Johl Powell on loan from Charlton.
A deal for the 21-year-old was set up before the weekend win against Oxford City.
But his arrival becomes even more timely, with Regan Booty suspended for Saturday’s top-of-the-table game at Dorking, following his red card in the 2-1 success over City.
Powell made his Addicks debut in a Football League Trophy tie against Leyton Orient in November 2020.
He’s played twice for the first-team this season, in an EFL Cup tie against AFC Wimbledon and a Football League Trophy clash with Orient.
“He’s an aggressive, box-to-box midfielder,” said Maidstone manager Hakan Hayrettin.
“We thought we needed another one and, now Regan’s missing, we definitely do.”
Powell is the second Charlton player to join Maidstone on loan this season.
Striker Hady Ghandour, a Lebabon international, made five appearances during his month-long stay after signing in October.
