Maidstone United manager Jay Saunders says his side didn't show up in Bromley defeat

Maidstone boss Jay Saunders said the 2-0 defeat by Bromley was their worst performance of the season.

Bromley dominated from start to finish at the Gallagher on Tuesday night, taking the points with goals from George Porter and Oluwatobi Sho-Silva.

Stones, who drop a place to 13th in the National League, just didn't get going.

And Saunders said: "It was probably our worst performance of the season but I don't want to take anything away from Bromley.

"I thought they were very good on the night, started on the front foot and we let ourselves down really.

"We had a good performance Saturday, we've been playing quite well, I've been quite pleased but no one showed up tonight and I thought they fully deserved their victory."

Maidstone could only name a four-man bench after Tom Mills was ruled out with a rib injury hours before the game.

They were already missing Jack Richards (concussion) while Kevin Lokko (hip) went off injured early in the second half.

Saunders said: "Millsy took a whack on his ribs in training about two or three weeks ago and he's played on with it.

"At work today he's felt something go a bit and had to go to hospital for an X-ray, which was a bit of a blow.

"We lost Jack Richards yesterday to concussion, then we've lost Lokko tonight and Millsy.

"It's just been one of those days, a day I want to sweep under the carpet and move on.

"I've just said to them, you can't make excuses, Bromley were the better side, we've not performed on the night, we've not worked hard enough and that's unlike us really.

"We haven't got going and that's the long and short of it."
