Maidstone United winger Vas Karagiannis makes loan move to Margate

Transfer-listed Maidstone winger Vas Karagiannis has joined Margate on loan for a month.

The 24-year-old was told he could leave the Gallagher a fortnight ago after struggling to break into the side.

He's made only two appearances from the bench in the National League this season and didn't make the squad for Saturday's draw with Wrexham.

Karagiannis links up with former Stones defender Manny Parry at Hartsdown Park and could make his debut when Blues meet East Thurrock in National South tonight (Tuesday).

After placing him on the list, Stones boss Jay Saunders said: "I think it possibly came as a bit of a surprise to him but you have to make difficult decisions sometimes.

"I had to be honest with him because he’s a good lad and I’ve got a lot of time for him.

"He sort of said he wants to be playing and I don’t see that happening here."
