The draw for the last 16 takes place live on ITV at about 2pm this afternoon, before the Liverpool v Norwich City tie.

Winning clubs earn £225,000 in prize money, with ties from this stage all decided on the day – replays are scrapped from round five.

Matches will be played in the week commencing February 26 – all in midweek.

Maidstone have beaten League 2, League 1 and Championship clubs in successive rounds and hope the sequence continues by landing Premier League opposition next.

Stones boss George Elokobi, whose side are ball No.9, has made no secret of his desire to play Wolves (No.4), the club where he made his name and won promotion to the top flight.

They take on Black Country rivals West Brom at 11.45pm today.

There are any number of dream ties for the National South club, the first sixth-tier side through to round five in 46 years.

Holders Manchester City are among those in the hat after beating Tottenham on Friday night.

Pep Guardiola’s side, who beat Manchester United in last season’s final, are ball No.11.

Liverpool need to get past Ipswich’s bitter rivals Norwich first but they’re No.9 in the draw, or how about a trip to Newcastle (No.16) or Brighton (No.15)?

Manchester United, who are No.14, would be another fantastic draw but they face a tricky task at League 2 Newport this afternoon (4.30pm).

Chelsea and Aston Villa (No.8) meet again next month after a goalless draw on Friday, while Luton (No.13) won at Everton and Bournemouth (No.3) thrashed Swansea.

Possible Championship opponents include 2021 FA Cup winners Leicester, the Foxes lifting the trophy at Wembley five years on from perhaps the greatest sporting shock of all-time when they won the Premier League title in 2016.

Ball numbers: 1 Watford or Southampton; 2 Blackburn or Wrexham; 3 AFC Bournemouth; 4 West Brom or Wolves; 5 Bristol City or Nottingham Forest; 6 Leicester; 7 Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry; 8 Chelsea or Aston Villa; 9 Maidstone; 10 Liverpool or Norwich; 11 Manchester City; 12 Leeds or Plymouth; 13 Luton; 14 Newport or Manchester United; 15 Brighton; 16 Newcastle.
