Car fire brings M20 to a halt at Aylesford

Smoke was billowing across the motorway, making driving hazardous, so all traffic was held.

The car has been moved to an emergency layby but the road was still closed for safety reasons.

As of 7.53pm, traffic had been released but the London-bound exit slip road remains closed, along with the inside lane.

There are no reports of any injuries
