Owner Debbie Sargeant has been running the store in the town’s High Street since April last year.

“We have been on the show before, so they contacted us again about this,” the 58-year-old said.

“When you are in this trade, everybody sort of knows each other.

“The team came and filmed on Monday, July 17 – it took around three hours or so.

“It was good fun and they are all really nice.”

It is the 12th series of the BBC Two programme, which is a spin-off from Antiques Road Trip.

Two teams, consisting of an expert and a celebrity, buy antiques to sell at auction and hope to make a profit to then give to charity.

The recent episode features Paul Merton – a writer, actor and comedian, who has starred in his own shows as well as Have I Got News for You and Room 101.

He is best known for his deadpan humour alongside his wife and fellow comic improviser Suki Webster.

The pair started off in Kent, then headed to an auction in Windsor, accompanied by experts Margie Cooper and Charles Hanson.

Debbie added: “It’s good for us and our business, as well as for the whole of Snodland.

“People come in and use all the other facilities that are available too – we now have our own cafe on site.”

Hannah Dowley, who runs the coffee shop called Clementine’s, made sure to grab a picture with the comedian whilst they were filming.

“They all came in and had a coffee whilst wandering around,” she said.

“It was weird being in the background and watching it all happen.

“They were all really friendly and explained what they were doing.

“They didn’t mind us filming and taking pictures, but we weren’t allowed to talk about it or put anything up on social media until it had been aired.”

The episode aired last Tuesday (October 10) at 7pm, and you can catch up on the series so far on BBC iPlayer.

Debbie revealed that the store will appear again on the original show, Antiques Road Trip, which is set to be aired before Christmas.

They will also be hosting an evaluation day on Monday, November 20, between 12pm and 5pm, with Irita Marriott – an antiques expert from the programme.
