Drivers suffered long delays after a lorry overturned at a roundabout close to the entrance of a residential estate.

Road users have been diverted from the entrance of the Kings Hill estate following the incident at around 3.10pm.

It happened on the A228 Ashton Way between Tower View and King Hill.

The road was closed in both directions but reopened at 6.24pm.

KCC Highways has warned delays will continue for some time while traffic clears.

The driver of the lorry was said to have looked shocked but was not believed to be seriously hurt.

The accident is causing gridlock on surrounding streets.
