There are plans for a new HGV park at a busy motorway junction which could have up to 200 parking spaces.
Moto Hospitality is preparing to resubmit an application for a lorry park, amenity building, and fuelling station with a new roundabout for site access at junction 2A of the M26 in Wrotham.
The proposals come after officers at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council refused a first application last year before it could be debated by the council’s planning committee.
The plans represent a multi-million pound investment in the local economy, and it is hoped they will help to prevent anti-social HGV parking and meet the need for more facilities in the area, which has been identified by Kent County Council.
The original application came after the Unite union said that lorry parks and services in the county have become chronically overcrowded, with drivers being forced to park overnight on double yellow lines, slip roads and petrol garage forecourts.
Moto Hospitality is planning to submit the new planning application, which aims to help relieve anxiety for residents directly impacted by anti-social parking, and at the same time support HGV drivers.
The proposals say they will provide purpose built high-quality amenity building design, and access via a new roundabout and junction.
There will be extensive landscape screening to reduce visual impact and the park would be well-lit and would have secure parking with CCTV and 24 hour surveillance, the application document adds.
It would also have "sympathetically designed lighting" to reduce light spill.

Ken McMeikan, Moto’s chief executive, said: "These new proposals will provide a much needed rest stop for HGV drivers on what is a busy stretch of motorway and will help to alleviate the issues experienced by local residents as a result of the current lack of facilities.
"In addition to providing proper facilities to an area where the County Council has already identified a critical need, the plans will bring new jobs and secure investment in the local economy."
However, local Tonbridge Conservative Patrick Lohlein said access to the site remains a problem.
He said: "Basically to access that lorry park, the lorries will have to come off the M20 and then have to drive two miles along a road which is often chock-a-block anyway; past a number of roundabouts and create huge chaos.
"I also think it is the wrong place because the demand is primarily in East Kent where orries are getting turned away at the lorry parks in the Ashford area because they're full."
