Police responding to concern for welfare call at Tonbridge railway station

A man has been detained under the mental health act after police were called to a busy commuter station.

Emergency services were sent to Tonbridge railway station, in Quarry Hill Road, at about 4pm.

A British Transport Police spokesman said Kent Police was dealing with the incident.

Reports on social media suggested someone was hit by a train, but this was not the case.

The man was taken away by police.
