Ditton: Police destroy scooter used anti-socially

Police destroyed a scooter after its riders were reported to be driving around a village in an anti-social manner.

The vehicle was spotted in Ditton Court Quarry at 3pm last Monday, where two people were seen driving it.

They were then reported to have driven it onto Ditton Recreation Ground and on the footpaths leading into Pear Tree Avenue.

Officers soon located the scooter, which had been abandoned, and following inquiries destroyed it.

Sgt Joanne Mott, of the Tonbridge and Malling community safety unit, said: "Kent Police will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and in particular vehicles used to cause alarm and or distress to other members of the public which is why we took action to seize this scooter and have it destroyed.

"I would always encourage anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour to report it by calling Kent Police on 101. Remember in an emergency always call 999."
