Travellers have moved on to playing fields in Eccles.

Villagers reported several caravans moved on to land off Bull Lane at around 5pm last night.

The camp has been set up by the children's play area and Kent Police have been informed, however the land owner is the one who is ultimately responsible for removing them.

Around a dozen caravans and several cars and vans are currently parked on the fields.

Eccles Parish Council, which is believed to own the land, could not be reached for comment.
