Boy in court over stabbing of Kyle Yule in East Street, Gillingham

A fifth teenager charged with the murder of Gillingham teen Kyle Yule is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court tomorrow (Monday.)

The 16-year-old from Croydon, who also faces a charge of affray, was remanded in custody by Maidstone magistrates on Saturday.

Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate charged the youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on Friday.

A murder inquiry was launched after police were called to East Street, Gillingham, at 8.10pm on Friday, October 6 where the 17-year-old had been fatally injured.

A number of people were reported to have been causing criminal damage to a silver Renault Clio before Kyle was stabbed. He later died in hospital.

A 17-year-old boy, two 16-year-old boys and 19-year-old Victor Maibvisira, of St John’s Road, Gillingham, have all previously been charged with murder and affray.

All four defendants have pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, and have been remanded before a provisional trial on Monday, April 9.
