He is also from Gillingham and is now in a stable condition at Kings College Hospital, London, after being flown there by air ambulance.
The identity of the pair is yet to be released by Kent Police.
Emergency services were called to Sutton Road shortly after 3pm on Saturday.
A silver Vauxhall Astra travelling towards Maidstone on the A274 left the road, hit a brick wall and collided with two other vehicles.
They were another silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Mercedes S500 saloon.
A woman aged 66, who was driving the Mercedes, suffered arm injuries and was treated in hospital.
The 45-year-old man driving the second Vauxhall Astra escaped unhurt.
The road was closed while officers from Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit examined the scene.
Diversions were set up through Langley Heath village before the road was re-opened at 9pm.
Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have seen the silver Vauxhall Astra in the Sutton Valence area at around 3pm.
