Two vehicles have been destroyed after suspected arson attacks in Medway car parks.

The first happened off Skinner Street, in Gillingham, at midnight.

Four firefighters were called to tackle the flames, which had engulfed a motor trike. The three-wheeled motorcycle was destroyed.

The second blaze was at 4.30am today in a car park in Ryde Close, Princes Park.

The fire started in a transit van and spread to another vehicle.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the van was destroyed by the flames and the second vehicle suffered "substantial damage".

Police were also called to the scene and both fires are being treated as suspicious.
