CCTV released in missing man appeal

Officers searching for a 40-year-old man reported missing from Strood have released a CCTV image of him.

The image, taken from a private residential address shows Adam Jarvis at around 11.38am on Thursday 20 July on the path leading from Albatross Avenue in Strood through the underpass under the M2 bridge, shortly before he was reported missing at 12.26pm.

Initial enquiries made led officers to believe Mr Jarvis may have been bare chested, but they now believe he was wearing a dark coloured T shirt with cargo shorts which are described as being dark green/khaki or brown. He was also wearing blue trainers.

Insp Tony Cannon said: "Our officers continue to make enquires into Mr Jarvis’ whereabouts and are carrying out extensive searches to establish his whereabouts."

Mr Jarvis is about 6ft 1in, of large build with short brown hair, and has shoulder to elbow length tribal tattoos on both arms.

As part of their efforts to find him, officers conducted a search of woodland off Albatross Avenue, in Strood and cordoned off a section of the road there.

Several police cars were be seen at the location near some garages and part of the road was taped off by officers.

Anyone with information on Mr Jarvis’ whereabouts is asked to call Kent Police on 101 quoting 20- 0582.
