House-building passed halfway mark on former Chatham Golf Centre site

Construction has passed the halfway mark on the new Crown Fields housing development in Chatham.

House-builders Bellway say 89 of the 131 homes planned on the former Chatham Golf Centre site, off Street End Road, have now been built.

Building work is set to finish next May, with the estate including one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as two, three and four-bedroom houses.

All but nine of the 118 properties for private sale have been bought, and the final homes have now been released onto the market.

The other 13 properties have been provided as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership.

Mark Harrop, Sales Director for Bellway Kent, said: “With construction work continuing, it is pleasing to reach an important milestone at Crown Fields where residents are now settling into a new neighbourhood in Chatham.

“Even though we are close to selling out here, there are still a varied mix of homes on offer that would suit buyers at various stages of the property ladder. The strong commuter links via the M2 have proved a particular draw for house-hunters relocating outside of London who are seeking a high-quality home and better value for money.”

The house and apartment types at Crown Fields have been named after famous golfers, with available properties including the one-bedroom McIlroy apartment and the three-bedroom Faldo house type.

A range of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties are currently available, with prices ranging between £175,995 and £361,995.
