Lanes reopen on M2 after crash between car and lorry near Strood

All lanes have now reopened on the M2 coastbound after a crash between a car and a lorry brought traffic to a halt.

Traffic was temporarily held due to an accident between Junctions 1 and 2 of the Rochester-bound carriageway in Strood.

The incident was reported at around 8.40am this morning. No serious injuries were reported.

Lanes one and two were temporarily closed while traffic officers and police attended the incident.

Vehicles involved in the crash have now been recovered and all lanes have now reopened.

A spokesman for Kent Police James Walker, said: "We was called at 8.39am to a report of a collision between a car and a lorry on the coastbound M2, between junctions 1 and 2.

"Due to the road becoming obstructed, a closure of lanes one and two was enforced and the scene was clear by 10.45am."
