Police investigating after fire crews tackle blaze at suspected 'cannabis farm' in Sydney Road, Chatham

Firefighters tackled a blaze at a suspected cannabis farm in the early hours of this morning.

Crews were called to a property in Sydney Road, Chatham, at 4.15am, where they found the roof alight and used three pumps to put out the flames.

They used breathing apparatus to enter the property and discovered suspected cannabis plants in the loft space, with the blaze believed to have been caused by the overheating of lamps used to grow them.
