Defence Secretary Michael Fallon visits Aeromet in Rochester as part of remain campaign

The Defence Secretary Michael Fallon visited Rochester earlier today ahead of the EU referendum.

Michael Fallon, who is also MP for Sevenoaks, visited Aeromet in Laker Road and was joined by Rochester and Strood MP Kelly Tolhurst and 'remain' campaigners.

Aeromet specialises in making aluminium plane parts and up to 65% of its products are exported to EU countries such as France and Germany.

Mr Fallon said: "Aeromet is a very good example of a company that absolutely depends on our continued membership in Europe.

"Companies like Aeromet are successfully trading across it, has a supply chain across it, has customers across Europe, and if we left they would have to find alternate markets and other work for the people who are employed here.

"So this is a perfect example of why we need to stay inside this market and make it work."
