They suspected him of driving without insurance tried to stop him.

While officers chased him they saw him throw two small packages over a nearby garden fence before they caught up with him and arrested him in nearby St Peter Street.

The packages were later identified to be 8.56g of crack cocaine and 2.65g of heroin.

Jesse was also found with a small amount of 0.17g of cocaine in his coat pocket.

He was given a two month sentence, to run concurrently, for the possession of cocaine charge, which he pleaded guilty to.

Jesse was also charged with driving without insurance and failing to stop for police and those charges were left on file.

Investigating officer PC Samuel Towner said: "This sentencing is due to the good work of officers on patrol the day they suspected Jesse of driving with no insurance, which he was also found to be, but above that officers recovered a significant amount of class A drugs which would have made it onto the streets of Medway.

"We take crime seriously and will always look to keep our towns and villages as free from crime as we can and I hope that this significant sentencing reminds others that crime really does not pay."
