Medway Council offering free sports classes for women for International Women’s Day

A council is offering women free classes for International Women’s Day.

Medway Sport, the sport and leisure service at Medway Council, are holding the sessions at Strood Sports Centre tomorrow (March 8).

They include Hydro your Flo, a session in the hydrotherapy pool with relaxing music, mood lighting and breathwork, which will take place between 12pm and 12.45pm, and Your Woman’s Body, a strength and conditioning class which will be held between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Classes are free but places must be booked online ahead of time via the council’s booking site here.

There will also be a free friendly football session on the 3G floodlit football pitches at 7pm.

This is also at Strood Sports Centre and all ability levels are welcome and there’s no need to book.

Medway Sport will also be sharing videos online offering expert advice for girls and women in Medway on International Women’s Day.

These include include short online classes, such as yoga for teenagers with menstrual pains, calming breathwork for changing bodies in pregnancy, strength and flexibility during the menopause, practical running tips, how to fit in a good stretch while looking after a small family, and myth busting gym workouts and lifting weights.
