Gillingham driver's miracle escape after car overturns in crash near roundabout at Danes Hill and Yokosuka Way junction

A motorist had a miraculous escape when a car ended up on its roof after a crash near a roundabout in Gillingham.

Emergency services were called out to the junction of Danes Hill and Yokosuka Way after two vehicles were in a smash last night.

But despite initial reports someone was trapped inside the upturned car, police arrived to find the person was out and had only suffered minor injuries.

Police said one lane was closed as a result of the collision crash at about 7.20pm as oil had spilled onto the road.

It is not yet known if either driver had to go to hospital for treatment.
