Gillingham schoolboy Lewis Brooke holding fun day at Boots to launch charity Help Lewis Help Others

A schoolboy undergoing treatment for leukemia is holding a fundraising day to help other children.

Lewis Brooke needs to raise £5,000 to launch his charity Help Lewis Help Others.

He is holding his second fun day at Boots in Gillingham High Street tomorrow (Saturday) from 9.30am and 4.30pm.

There will be a toy sale, face painting, cake sale, photography studio and a raffle.

Despite constant pain and feeling weak and tired, Lewis is determined to help others.

Kind-hearted 10-year-old, who lives in Gillingham, spent Christmas 2014 in hospital so in 2015 he decided to brighten up Christmas Day for young patients by handing out presents on the wards.

Mum Debbie, 29, said he loved seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and decided to start his own charity.

Organisations must raise £5,000 before they can be registered as a charity. Lewis has about £2,000 left to raise.

His mum posted online this week: “Lewis isn’t doing great, he’s been falling over and having lots of pains still.

"Pokemon was helping Lewis with building himself up but sadly his phone is broken. So he’s annoyed about that but he is excited that this Saturday we will be in Boots Gillingham having our fundraising day.”
