Hicham Akhazzan's second-half equaliser rescued a point for Sittingbourne in Ryman League Division 1 South at Horsham YMCA on Saturday.

Like many other games this season, Sittingbourne were slow to get going and trailed at half-time to Tom Manton’s goal after an error by keeper Deren Ibrahim.

The Brickies introduced Joe Horlock for Jimmy Bottle in the second half and they started to threaten the Horsham goal.

Billy Manners headed over before Elie Kayembe’s penalty appeal was turned down. Sittingbourne did equalise in the 58th minute when Ibrahim’s long clearance was passed on to Akhazzan to finish off.

The same player nearly doubled his tally moments later and a second penalty appeal was waved away by the referee.

Bourne boss Gary Abbott introduced Tom Bradbrook, pictured, for the final 10 minutes and he suffered no reaction to his long-term injury.
