Long delays after crash on M2

Motorists faced long delays on the M2 this morning after a car crashed into a central reservation after apparently skidding in flood water.

The white BMW crashed just after the Strood turn-off on the London-bound carriageway and the incident caused long delays.

Traffic between the Chatham and Strood turn-offs was moving very slowly as speed limits were brought down and traffic came to a standstill between the Cobham, Shorne and the Inn On The Lake turn-offs.

Those travelling from Medway saw traffic queued back almost to Gillingham. It is thought the road returned to normal speeds by about 9am.

It is not known if the driver of the BMW suffered any serious injury.
