The London-bound M2 was blocked following a crash involving “multiple vehicles”.

Both lanes were closed with traffic passing on the hard shoulder between Junction 5 at Stockbury Roundabout, Sittingbourne, and Junction 4, Gillingham.

Delays built up on the route as drivers passed the scene, but the carriageway fully reopened before 9pm.

Emergency services have been contacted for more information about the incident, which happened at about 6.30pm.
