Man, 24, dies after being hit by car on Ratcliffe Highway in Hoo

A young man has died after being hit by a car in Hoo.

The 24-year-old was knocked down by a silver Vauxhall Vectra estate on the Ratcliffe Highway at about 3am yesterday.

The victim, who was from the Hoo area, was taken to a London hospital but died later that day.

Police have re-issued their appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened on the Rochester-bound carriageway between the junctions with Bell’s Lane and Main Road.

They are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the man, who was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and blue jeans, in the moments before he was hit.

It is believed he was walking towards Hoo, from Rochester, on the Rochester-bound carriageway.
