A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm after an incident in Chatham.

Police called just before midday on Tuesday after reports a man was seen carrying a gun near the High Street.

Armed officers attended and arrested a 21-year-old man in Globe Lane. A black BB gun was also recovered from the scene.

The man has been released on bail until Tuesday July 12.
