Man arrested after imitation firearms were allegedly found at an address in Goudhurst Road, Twydall, in Gillingham

A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm after police were called out following reports of someone wielding a handgun.

Officers were called out to Goudhurst Road, in Twydall, Gillingham, at about 5.42pm yesterday evening, after people dialed 999 after seeing the man with the firearm.

It is understood no one was injured during the incident and police arrested a man at the scene.

After police arrived they arrested a 51-year-old man and officers then said a number of other imitation firearms were seized from an address in the road.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "The man has been bailed until Wednesday, June 8, to allow inquiries to continue.
