Man attacked near Chatham nightclub

Police investigating an alleged unprovoked assault near a nightclub in Chatham have arrested a 22-year-old man.

Officers were called to the Tap n' Tin in Railway Street at 11.45pm yesterday and found a man being treated for a head injury by paramedics.

The suspect, from Gravesend, was detained at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "After carrying out enquiries officers arrested a man and he was taken to Medway Police Station.

"He has subsequently been released under investigation while enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
