A body has been discovered in a road that runs parallel to the River Medway.
The man was found dead in Canal Road, Strood, at about 9.45pm yesterday.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the area after concerns were raised for the man's welfare.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
A police spokesman confirmed today the death is not being treated as suspicious and the man's next of kin are aware.
A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
