Man injured after being trapped between lorry and skip in Chestnut Avenue in Chatham

A man has been flown to hospital after being trapped between a skip and lorry in Chatham this afternoon.

The man, in his 40s, was treated at the scene in Chestnut Avenue for chest and pelvic injuries.

Although suffering breathing difficulties and a further head injury, he was said to be fully conscious and his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The accident happened at 1.50pm and it was initially thought the man had been crushed by the lorry.

Firefighters from Medway and Strood stations were also sent to the scene and helped paramedics.

The injured man was flown to King's College Hospital in London.
