Delays after car and motorcycle crash in Rochester Road, Cuxton, near Halling

A crash closed the A228 near Halling this morning, causing rush hour delays for motorists.

The accident involving a motorbike and a car happened on the Rochester Road, between Pilgrims Road and Bush Road in Cuxton at around 8.15am.

A 17-year-old boy who was riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

Traffic was queuing in both directions due to the accident, but motorists started moving again shortly before 9am.

Several emergency vehicles, including police and paramedics were sent to the scene and firefighters assisted by making the bike safe and clearing up a fuel spillage.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "Two ambulance crews attended the scene.

"The 17-year-old male motorcyclist was assessed and treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with leg injuries."
