19-year-old man from London arrested after alleged stabbing at Prince Arthur's Park, Gillingham

A second teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Gillingham.

A 19-year-old man from London was arrested on Sunday in Saunders Street, Gillingham.

The arrest is in connection with a incident on Wednesday, July 27, when a 17-year-old boy was found in Gillingham High Street with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing.

The boy is thought to have been at Prince Arthur's Park, Gillingham, when the incident took place.

He was taken to King's College Hospital in London with stomach injuries.

The 19-year-old has been bailed until Monday, September 12.

Armed police were seen in Saunders Street on Sunday following a car chase through Gillingham after a car allegedly refused to stop for officers.

Residents in the road and Fox Street are thought to have been told to stay indoors during the incident and nearby James Street is also thought to have been closed by police.

Six police cars and a riot van were also spotted in the area.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on Thursday, July 18, in connection with the same incident and has been bailed until Monday, September 19.
