Teenager arrested in connection with illegal hunting, livestock worrying and vehicle theft after police chase

A teenager was arrested in connection with illegal hunting, livestock worrying and vehicle theft, after being stopped riding a moped in Rochester on Sunday night.

Kent Police's Medway team posted images of a stolen motorbike and stolen moped, which had been seized after a short police chase at around 10.30pm.

While one rider escaped, the 16-year-old moped rider was arrested.

Kent Police confirmed patrols spotted the rider in Hollywood Lane, Rochester, and had signalled for him to stop as he had not been wearing a helmet.

The rider failed to stop and continued on to Abbey Road where he got off the moped and surrendered to the patrol.

He was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and vehicle interference.

Following the arrest, officers examined the rider’s mobile phone and the boy, who is from the Medway area, was further arrested in connection with illegal hunting, livestock worrying and two counts of vehicle theft.

He has been released under investigation whilst inquiries continue.
