Kent Police appeal for witnesses after teens attack man with baseball bat in Rochester

A middle-aged man has been beaten with a baseball bat by three teenagers who tried to rob him.

The victim, in his 50s, was walking home from Rochester railway station when he was approached by three young men in King Edward Road, in the town.

The suspects, who are described as being in their late teens, are reported to have demanded the man hand over his personal belongings.

They then hit him over the head with a baseball bat before kicking him repeatedly as he lay on the ground.

The youths left empty-handed. One of them was black and the other two were white.

The incident happened at about 11.10pm on Monday.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information about the robbery to come forward.
