Two people have appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of a man in Chatham.

James O'Rourke, 29, was found dead at a block of flats in Shipwrights Avenue on Monday morning.

Homeless Neil Taylor, 35, and Caroline Rushworth, 34, of Shipwrights Avenue, Chatham were each charged last night with one count of murder.

They appeared separately in virtual court from Medway police station.

The case was adjourned until Monday, when both will appear at Maidstone Crown Court for the trial date to be set.
