Police car rammed by burglary suspect after chase from Medway to Longfield

By KentOnline reporter

Two police officers were left with whiplash after being rammed by a car they had been pursuing.

The driver of the vehicle was being followed at around 2am today as he was suspected of being involved in a burglary in the Medway area.

A till from a petrol station in Main Road, Chattenden, was reported to have been stolen in a raid a short while earlier.

The black Mondeo was being pursued from Medway to Longfield when he stopped and reversed at speed into the police car. The suspect then drove off.

The two officers in the car suffered slight whiplash but were otherwise uninjured.

Police have now appealed for information about the driver of the vehicle, a Mondeo registration RV04 UDY.
