Fire crews free woman from car after smash in London Road, Rainham

A woman had to be rescued from her car by firefighters after a crash on the A2 last night.

Firefighters were called out to London Road, Rainham at about 6.45pm after the woman got trapped in her vehicle.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove a door to free the woman, who was then passed into the care of paramedics.

The two-car crash, close to the Bloors Lane junction resulted in tailbacks in the area.

Crews left the scene at about 7.30pm.
