Bruj, of Lower Boxley Road, Maidstone, was given a breath test by officers at the side of the road and was arrested after failing the test.

He gave a reading of 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35.

Bruj appeared before magistrates in Medway earlier today and pleaded guilty to drink-driving and dangerous driving.

Stacey Holland, prosecuting, told the court that while being arrested, Bruj said to officers, "I know I made a mistake and I have taken the wrong side of the road."

Magistrates decided to send the case to Maidstone Crown Court to be dealt with and placed Bruj on a interim driving ban until then.

A date for his sentencing is yet to be fixed.
