Gillingham midfielder Josh Wright has been linked to Championship side Nottingham Forest

Gillingham boss Ady Pennock isn’t surprised at the transfer gossip surrounding Josh
Wright.

Reports in the national media suggest Nottingham Forest will make a move for the goalscoring midfielder in the summer.

They are just one of several teams who are monitoring the 27-year-old.

Pennock, reacting to reports of a possible six-figure bid, said: “I am not surprised if he has got interest from teams above because he has done ever so well.

“For a midfield player to score so many goals since January is fantastic and I am sure there will be more interest in him come the end of the season.”

The Gills boss did confirm that no bids had been lodged at present.

He said: “There are no firm offers. He has another year left at the end of the season and it is a case that we will see what happens at the end of the season.

"We haven’t heard anything at all.”
