Gillingham sign Brighton left-back Adam Chicksen on loan for a month

Adam Chicksen has rejoined the Gills on loan from Brighton.

A hamstring injury to Bradley Garmston has left Gillingham light in the full-back area and Chicksen comes in for the weekend trip to Blackpool.

Chicksen joins on an initial one-month loan.

He spent a month with the Gills in 2014, playing four games for the club.

Gills boss Justin Edinburgh said: "Adam is somebody we have kept an eye on for a while and are pleased we had the opportunity to bring him here.

"He will add quality to our squad. He is a strong defender and we look forward to working with him."

The 24-year-old has recently been on loan with League 2 Leyton Orient where he made six appearances.

Chicksen has made just two appearances for Brighton this season, coming off the bench in the Championship game against Charlton last month and playing 90 minutes in their 1-0 FA cup defeat to Hull.

The Hull match, on January 9, was his last competitive action.
