Gillingham pair Conor Wilkinson and Ryan Huckle make loan moves to National League clubs

Gillingham have sent striker Conor Wilkinson and defender Ryan Huckle out on loan to National League clubs.

Wilkinson has signed for Dagenham & Redbridge in a deal which runs until January 7, 2019 while Huckle has joined Dover Athletic on a one-month youth loan.

Both are eligible to play for their new clubs this weekend.

Dagenham, one place above the relegation zone, travel to Sutton United while bottom club Dover are at home to fellow strugglers Maidenhead.

Wilkinson, 23, joined the Gills in the summer of 2017 and has scored just four goals in 50 appearances.

At Dagenham he will team-up with former Gills boss Peter Taylor.

Eighteen-year-old Huckle signed his first pro deal at Priestfield earlier this year and the centre-back has been a regular in Gillingham's under-23 side this season.

He can also play as a defensive midfielder.

Dover are still looking for their first league win under former Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler who returned to Crabble for a second stint as manager following Chris Kinnear's sacking last month
