Gillingham's Luke Norris and Emmanuel Osadebe clash on the pitch during 3-1 League 1 win at Chesterfield

Justin Edinburgh wasn’t happy about the on-field bust-up between Luke Norris and Emmanuel Osadebe.

The pair exchanged angry words with each other as a chance against Chesterfield went begging late on. The Gills were leading 3-1 at the time.

Norris was annoyed that Osadebe had taken on a shot rather than pull the ball back to him as he felt he was in a better position.

Osadebe’s effort was saved by Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee and the Gills midfielder then had to be restrained by stand-in skipper John Egan after Norris reacted angrily.

“We have dealt with that in the changing room,” said Gills boss Edinburgh. “Whatever was right or wrong was irrelevant at that time. I didn’t like the reaction I saw.

“I have spoken to both players and we’ve drawn a line under it. It’s a tight group and we don’t want that kind of thing happening.”
