Gillingham announce their squad numbers for the 2019/20 season

Gillingham have handed 24 players a squad number ahead of the 2019/20 season.

There were 33 players with squad numbers last season.

The most notable ones without an official number are Josh Rees and Bradley Stevenson.

Both have been playing for the under-23s during pre-season. Their 24 and 25 shirts are not taken at present.

Mikael Mandron takes the number nine shirt from departing striker Tom Eaves.

There’s a change in defence too, with injured defender Gabriel Zakuani swapping the number six shirt for 17. Wearing the number six is new permanent signing Connor Ogilvie.

New defensive signing Alfie Jones takes the number 14 shirt, which last season was worn by forward Josh Parker, who this week joined Wycombe Wanderers following his release by Charlton Athletic at the end of the season.

Mark Byrne gives up his 33 shirt for 18 this season.
