Gillingham have clinched the signing of German central defender Max Ehmer.

The 22-year-old joins on loan from QPR until January 3.

His arrival comes just days after fellow defender Kortney Hause ended his stay at Gillingham when he was recalled by Wolves.

Ehmer has made just one appearance for the Rs but has gained experience with loan spells at Yeovil, Preston, stevenage and Carlisle.

Boss Peter Taylor said: "I'm delighted to have Max on board, he has played in over 80 league matches for a number of clubs and has good experience at this level.

"He's a good player, a strong defender and can play in a couple of other positions too."

Ehmer becomes the second QPR player on Gills' books, joining Michael Doughty at the club.
