Bradley Garmston’s loan spell with the Gills is over, boss Justin Edinburgh confirmed.

The pacey left-back suffered a hamstring injury in Gillingham’s weekend defeat to Barnsley.

It’s an injury that looks set to keep the West Brom loanee out for the rest of the season.

His deal with the Gills was set to expire on March 15 and he has returned to the Premier League team.

Edinburgh said: “He has gone back now and will be out for the rest of the season so unfortunately we have lost his services.”

Garmston initially came in as cover for Joe Martin, after the regular Gills left-back picked up an injury.

The 21-year-old from West Brom played nine games for the Gills, helping the League 1 side to go on an impressive unbeaten run. Boss Justin Edinburgh extended the loan deal for a further month in mid-February.

He was off the pitch injured when Barnsley scored what turned out to be their winner on Saturday. It was his only involvement in a losing Gills team.
