Harry Lennon has ended his loan spell with Gillingham.

The central defender played just two games for the Gills after arriving on loan from Championship side Charlton.

Former boss Peter Taylor had been keen to extend the loan for the 20-year-old prior to his sacking on Tuesday.

But Lennon confirmed he was returning to the Addicks via twitter.

He said: “Enjoyed my short time at The Gills. I wish the club all the best for the rest of the season.”

Lennon watched from the sidelines for the first three league games of his loan spell before replacing Leon Legge in the match at Colchester, which the Gills won 2-1.

He kept his place in the side for the home game against Bristol City but was on the losing side that time.
