He netted a stoppage-time goal at Bristol Rovers to earn the Gills a point from their penultimate game of the season.

And List, who hadn’t scored in his first 50 senior games, then made it two in two with a late effort in Gills’ 5-2 win over Plymouth Argyle at Priestfield.

He’s the first of Gills’ out of contract players to have committed for next season.

"I enjoy playing here, I finished last season very positively and I’m looking forward to 2018/19," said the young forward.

Manager Steve Lovell added: “Elliott has been one of our better players throughout the season. He started well when we took over and when he returned to playing up top he scored a couple of goals.

"I’m really pleased for him and potentially he has a good future ahead.”

List first joined the Gills following his release by Crystal Palace, snapped up on a free by former boss Justin Edinburgh.

He made his Gills debut at Swindon on Boxing Day, 2015, in a 3-1 win. He went onto make five more appearances that season.

List featured in 19 games during the 2016/17 season and during the last campaign he racked up another 28 appearances.

Lovell picked him to start in his first game in charge, a 1-0 win at Peterborough, and the pacey forward impressed in the 1-1 draw against Wigan days later.
