"This is a great opportunity for the club and our players to show themselves positively in front of the TV cameras," said Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh.

"We'll embrace the opportunity and hopefully deliver the result and performance our fans want."

Gillingham hosted Sheffield United on the opening day of last season, running out 4-0 winners thanks to goals from Luke Norris, Deji Oshilaja, John Egan and Bradley Dack.

The last time Priestfield played host to a live televised game was the 1-0 win over Wolves in January 2014.
